Summer droughts dry up natural forest streams, causing severe dehydration among wild birds and large mammals. This pushes animals like elephants and leopards into surrounding villages in search of water, resulting in human-wildlife conflicts. PFWCI builds solar-replenished water holes deep in forest zones.

The Conservation Challenge

Rising global temperatures trigger prolonged dry spells in South India. When forest pools dry out, herds of wild elephants, gaur, and predators migrate toward rural farmlands. This results in heavy crop loss and dangerous encounters for both humans and wildlife.

Environmental Risk Factors

Habitat loss, structural soil degradation, and seasonal resource depletion present immediate threats to surrounding ecological stability.

Our Mitigation & Solution

PFWCI constructed and maintained solar-pumped concrete water holes in strategic dry corridors. Working closely with forest rangers, we ensure these pools are consistently filled with clean water, providing a reliable water source inside the forest boundary.
