Statement On Wildfire Prevention In India
"Implementing firebreak lines, dry fuel clearing, and community alert training to protect vulnerable forest zones from seasonal dry-season wildfires."
Wildfires pose a massive threat to forest ecosystems, nesting birds, and forest guards. PFWCI partners with local tribal communities to clear fire lines, manage controlled burns, and educate visitors on fire prevention during peak dry seasons.
The Conservation Challenge
Invasive plant species (like Lantana) and heavy dry leaf litter act as fuel in deciduous forests during summers. A single stray match or camp-fire can trigger massive, uncontrollable forest fires, destroying hundreds of hectares of wildlife habitat in hours.
Environmental Risk Factors
Habitat loss, structural soil degradation, and seasonal resource depletion present immediate threats to surrounding ecological stability.

Our Mitigation & Solution

PFWCI trained 50 local community members to assist forest guards in creating firebreaks. Our teams cleared 45 km of dry forest corridors and implemented a rapid fire-reporting cell, drastically reducing the time required to detect and extinguish fires.
Core Interventions Delivered
- •Direct community mobilization & skill workshops
- •Procurement & delivery of certified native resources
- •Continuous progress inspection & data-driven audits
